My Maytag top-loader drains fine but the basket never spins. What fails?
On Whirlpool-platform Maytag washers the usual suspects are the lid lock, which has to confirm the lid is shut before spin, and the shift actuator, which moves the drive into spin. On belt-drive models a worn belt can also leave the basket still. We put the washer into its diagnostic test, note where the sequence stops and measure that part before quoting.
Why is water pooling under my Maytag refrigerator crisper drawers?
That usually means the defrost drain has frozen. Each defrost cycle melts frost off the evaporator, and the water should run down a tube to a pan under the refrigerator. When ice blocks the tube, the water spills into the fresh-food compartment instead. We clear the drain, check the defrost heater and thermostat, and confirm the path stays open.
